Yellow Sheet Report
The best political tip sheet in the state of Arizona
About Us

If something is happening at the Capitol or is the topic of conversation after hours at hot spots around Phoenix, it is likely to be found in the Yellow Sheet Report.

The Yellow Sheet Report is Arizona's first and best political tip sheet. Traditionally published Monday, Wednesday and Friday when the legislature was not in session, it originated in 1906 – before Arizona became a state. The report features a spicy, multi-page account of press releases, meeting agendas, political analysis and gossip.

James Edwin Creighton, the grandfather of former third-generation owner Ned Creighton, founded the Yellow Sheet. When the legislature was in session, James - an attorney and corporate agent - kept his clients informed of governmental and regulatory matters that might affect their business prospects through the Arizona News Service. When session ended, he furnished clients with political gossip and news in a report printed on yellow onionskin paper. It was appropriately named the Yellow Sheet.

Today's Yellow Sheet continues on the tradition it was founded, but clients receive it via fax, U.S. Mail and now through the internet. Our reporters talk with Railbirds, consultants and policy wonks to gather intelligence critical to our audience as they lobby through the legislature.

Each edition features our popular "News Notes & Gossip," summaries and postings of all state agency meetings, coverage of commission meetings, summaries of state agency administrative regulations, summaries of texts of attorney general rulings, Corporation Commission hearing agendas and schedules, text of news releases and copies of signed rulings and agency filings.
